Position Overview:
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Lightning Therapy, you will work closely with licensed Occupational Therapists to implement treatment plans designed to help patients regain or improve their ability to perform daily activities.
You will play an integral role in providing hands-on support during therapy sessions, guiding patients through exercises, and offering encouragement and education. This position is perfect for someone who is compassionate, detail-oriented, and dedicated to helping others achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Occupational Therapists in delivering treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, focusing on improving their ability to perform activities of daily living.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including exercises, adaptive techniques, and the use of specialized equipment, to help patients develop, recover, or maintain their skills.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate any changes or concerns to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises and strategies to continue therapy at home, ensuring ongoing progress and success.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and outcomes in compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies.
- Foster a supportive and motivating environment to help patients remain engaged and positive throughout their therapy.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current certification or licensure to practice as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in the state of Florida.
- Strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices, with a commitment to staying informed about the latest advancements in the field.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- A compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a strong desire to help individuals achieve their fullest potential.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
